The Oncogenes and Effector Targets Group at the Center for Applied Medical Research (CIMA) seeks for candidates to take on a Ph.D. position. The candidate’s work will involve the identification of pharmacological approaches for mutant KRAS tumors. The project is integrated in a priority research line focused on the discovery of oncogenic vulnerabilities and therapeutic strategies for the treatment of tumors with KRAS mutations (Vallejo A, Nat Comms, 2017; Ajona D, Cancer Disc, 2017; Roman M, Mol Cancer, 2018; Roman M, Cancer Res., 2017).

The project will require, among other tasks: generating new genetically-engineered mouse models using the CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing technology, isolating primary tumor organoids and implementing a drug screen in 3D, as well as developing cell (proliferation, apoptosis and cell cycle analysis, immune-histochemistry) and molecular (RNAseq, proteomics, Western blot, qPCR, cloning) analyses for the validation of leads and for the characterization of the mechanism of action.

Candidate’s requirements:

- MSc in biomedicine, health or related sciences.

- Motivation to learn and to take on new challenges.

- Team work skills.

- Interest in Cancer Biology and Oncology is preferable.

- ANECA accredited academic certification of at least 7.5.

Interested candidates can contact the Principal Investigator of the group at the following email: silvevicent@unav.es
